Holiday Travel Prep

Holiday travel can be stressful, but taking some important safety precautions can make things a little easier. We have some tips you should consider before setting off this holiday season to keep your family safe and reduce your holiday stress.

Keep an emergency kit in your trunk

No matter how prepared you are, it's important to keep some things in your vehicle all year long in the event of a breakdown. We suggest some essentials like a flashlight, tire repair kit, potable water, nonperishable snacks, road flares, a blanket, and the number of a trusted repair shop. Sometimes tow trucks can take a while to arrive, so having some items to keep your family safe while you wait can be helpful.

EV Charging

Before hitting the road, plan your charging stops in advance! Use apps to map out high-speed chargers along your route. Phone apps also help determine if the chargers are Level 2 or Level 3 DC fast charging stations. Charging stations can get busy during the holidays, so having a plan helps avoid long waits and range anxiety.

Inspect your vehicle before a long trip

Long trips and harsh weather can be rough on your vehicle. It's important to look it over. Check the fluids and tire pressures. Inspect the vehicle for any leaks and make sure your spare tire is in good condition if you have one. Even if you don't know much about vehicles, sometimes you can spot an issue before it leaves you stranded.
